A Cowboy's Life: That Time We Flew a Kite With No Wind

That Time We Flew a Kite With No Wind

8:52:00 AM

At the beginning of summer we bought Carson a cheap little kite from the Dollar Store, put it in his closet and forgot about it. Well as we were cleaning out his closet we came across it again and he would not stop begging to go fly it. We tried to explain to him that there was absolutely NO wind and it wouldn't work. That answer was not good enough!

So off we went to try and get this thing to fly. Of course it wouldn't get but a few feet off the ground. But you know what? Carson could have cared less if the thing flew or not! He had so much fun running up and down the hill dragging the darn thing behind him.

Can I just say I love having a little boy who can find just about any activity to be fun and exciting!

  1. Such fun...
As a child I had problems flying a kite, even if there was wind.

  6. Sounds like my boys. My youngest made a paper kite. He went outside to fly it with his brother. The handle was a toilet paper roll and string. :)

  10. Kids have such purity of thought! To them it's all in the 'trying' and to adults it's all in the 'doing'. We could learn a lot from them!

  12. Kites are so much fun for little ones. It really doesn't matter if it flies or not. That is probably more of a grown ups hang-up!

  13. Oh how fun! Isn't it great how kids find the simplest things the most fun? My son's name is Carson too!

  14. I love how small kids can really enjoy the smallest and simplest things sometimes. Our 16 month old son really likes doing things like dragging around our dustpan and brush as well as climbing up and down steps.

  15. Oh yes, we’ve been there…many times. Mason doesn’t understand the ‘needing wind’ thing. So cute!! Carson is a handsome little guy.

  17. We've totally been there! Lily doesn't get the wind concept but without a doubt doesn't seem to care. She loves just running across the lawn with the kite dangling behind her! So cute! Thanks for sharing! Stopping in from the link up.
