Fresh-baked Maple Oat Scones

A batch of these sweet scones is the perfect snack. Pair it with a cup of hot coffee and good magazines while enjoying the beautiful weather. Not a bad way to start the morning!

Ingredients needed:
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup syrup
1/4 cup milk
1 egg

1 1/4 confectioners sugar
1/2 cup syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Then mix in the butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk and syrup to form a soft dough. Form the dough into tablespoon size balls and place on baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

To make the glaze, simply combine all three ingredients. Let scones cool for 2 minutes, then drizzle each scone with glaze.

Serve warm.
