A Cowboy's Life: I Think I'm Getting Old

I Think I'm Getting Old

Signs you are old
I'm not saying I'm this little old lady. I actually like to think I'm still young and hip. But the fact is, I'm not. I prefer to go to bed early, enjoy the quite evenings and dread most things I enjoyed doing during my college years and 20's.

A few things have happened lately to make me come to this realization:

Asking for housewares for Christmas. Cookie sheets, Kitchen Aid Mixer attachments and dish towels is what this girl is hoping Santa delivers in my stocking.

Clothing styles you wore as a kid or in high school are coming back in style. Tube socks, crew neck sweatshirts, Birkenstocks and high wasted jeans are back. I just can't seem to bring myself to wear them a second time around.

The classic rock station is playing your jam from 10th grade. Was it really that long ago that we were jamming to Savage Garden, Third Eye Blind and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony? How can that be?!

Activities such as a trips to Bed Bath and Beyond, Pumpkin Patches and the park are considered your crazy weekend plans. Hello, you have a 20% coupon and you are not going to let that sucker go to waste! And who doesn't like a good photo op. You know it's funny because it's true!

What is something that makes you realize you aren't a little young thing anymore?

  1. That is so true! What makes me feel old? My favorite part of my day is going to bed by 10pm. I pick comfort over style when I get dressed. Does that count?

  2. What makes me feel old? Try going out drinking with a group of friends. Takes like 3 days to recover now lol

  3. When I am older than all the parents of the kids I teach. When my kids think sperrys are a "new" brand of shoes. When it takes all day Saturday to recover from a late night of Friday football. When I get excited that our family eats dinner before 7. I could go on and on.

  5. When you're in your 50's and you read posts from young ladies who look like they're in the 30's and they think they're getting old. I needed this laugh! Great post.
