skittles sherbet recipe

My family enjoys watching basketball, especially the tournament. There is just so much excitement wrapped up in those few weeks - especially just the thought of a possible Cinderella story. You just never know what is going to happen! Of course you can’t watch all the games without some sort of delicious treat.

While I was out shopping at my local Sam’s Club this weekend, I saw a display of Skittles 54oz bags and just couldn’t resist. I decided to pick up a bag to create a Slam Dunk game-watching dessert for me and my family. My homemade Skittles sherbet recipe will sure make basketball sweeter.

Ingredients Needed:
1 cup Skittles
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups fruit punch
8 oz sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

Directions:
In a small saucepan heat Skittles and water until melted. In a large food processor (or mixer) add melted Skittles, fruit punch, condensed milk, crushed pineapple and strawberries. Process until ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Pour the liquid in a large pan and place mixture in freezer for at least 4 hours.

Before serving sherbet, let thaw out for about 30 minutes on counter. This makes it a little easier to scoop out into dishes. Top with additional Skittles for added flavor. It’s only madness if you don’t have Skittles!
