Hidden Hill Country Treasure12:59:00 PM
We spent the most lovely Father's Day weekend relaxing and taking the beautiful scenery at Tapatio Springs Resort in Boerne, TX. When turing into the resort, we were welcomed by the breathtaking views of the 220 lush acres nestled at the base of the hills. We were wanting a secluded getaway and Tapatio Springs did not disappoint.
Once we got settled into our spacious King Suite (perfect size for a family), we splashed around in the new resort-style pool before heading to dinner. I'm glad we worked up an appetite, because the fare at La Cascada was delicious. I had the salmon ceasar salad and the hubby had the Texas sized fillet.
We somehow managed to make room for late night s'mores. We were blessed with an unseasonably cook Texas evening and took advantage of relaxing by one of the many fire pits scattered throughout the property.
We spent our Saturday morning cruising around the golf course on a cart and being in awe of the scenery. This may be one of the most beautiful courses in Texas - no wonder this 18-hole championship course is named a "Top Ten Texas Course!" Once it started to sprinkle, we decided to head downtown Boerne to get my little guy a new cowboy hat.
After shopping and a late nap we headed back to La Cascada for dinner. This time for spicy fried green tomatoes, tortilla soup and chicken fried steak. The food is amazing and the view spectacular. We were seated next to floor to ceiling windows overlooking the 18th hole and waterfall. Dining doesn't get much better than this.
We capped off the night by snuggling at another fire pit and confirming that the stars are big and bright in Texas. It was the most relaxing and peaceful evening we've had in a long time. We hadn't even left the resort yet and we were already trying to plan another trip - this time without the little man.
This resort is truly Texas Hill Country at its finest!
