A few weeks ago I received the most wonderful email in my inbox letting me know that I have been selected to be a Walmart Family Mobile Ambassador for the next three months. Yay! That means I will be sharing my WFM experience and how it has helped us cut costs so we can get to down to business. And by business I mean Road Trips!

Texas is a big ‘ole state with plenty of sites to see. So when we switched to Walmart Family Mobile and it saved us over $100 a month from our current cell phone bill, which we decided to put that money towards a few summer road trips through our great state.
Travel Apps

So before we head out on the road, I make sure I have my favorite travel apps downloaded to help make the trip a little easier. Here are my top 5 must have travel apps:

  • Gas Buddy – Find the cheapest gas prices near you by searching city, state or zip code.
  • SitOrSquat – This restroom finder helps you find a clean bathroom while on the road.
  • iExit – This app informs you what hotel, food and gas is at the next 100 exits.
  • Food Tripping – Sick of fast food? This app locates healthy eating options, farmers markets, etc. to give you more dining options.
  • Oh, Ranger! Park Finder – Choose your type of activity and it will find the closest park near you.

With these free apps download on your Walmart Family Mobile phone you are all ready for your next road trip.

Walmart Family Mobile offers Unlimited Talk, Text & Data that includes up to 1G of 4g LTE data for just $29.88 a month. Seriously! I don’t understand why didn’t make the switch much sooner. Not only do they offer unbeatable prices, but they also a wide variety of great phones that include:

  • ZTE Zinger - $29.88 starting
  • Galaxy Avant - $149.00 (was $199.99)
  • ZTE ZMAX - $179.00 (was $199.88)
  • Alcatel Fierce 2 - $99.88 (was $129.99)
  • Alcatel Evolve 2 - $34.83 (was $59.88)
  • LG 450- $29.88
  • Alcatel One Touch Pop Astro- $64.88
  • LG Leon LTE: $99.92

I chose the ZTE ZMAX because of its large 5.7 inch touchscreen, which is great for viewing photos. Plus my little guy likes the games and it’s easier for him to handle and large enough screen to watch videos to help him stay entertained on long drives.

I love that Walmart Family Mobile has helped us save so we can travel more this summer! What are your favorite apps to use when traveling?
