Fort Worth Stockyards Championship Rodeo
When boots, chaps and cowboy hats are involved, you know it's going to be a good night! An evening at the Fort Worth Stockyards Championship Rodeo starts off with eight seconds of bull riding and then filled with barrel racing, bareback riding, roping and plenty more events to keep you entertained. Oh and don't worry, there is an opportunity for the little ones to get in the arena, get a little dirty and chase a sheep around.

This is the world's only year-round rodeo and takes place every Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the Cowtown Coliseum that was orginally built in 1908. The Coliseum sits in the middle of the Stockyards, which was the last major stop on the Chisholm trail. Between 1866 and 1890 more than four million head of cattle came through Fort Worth.

And although we no longer see that many cattle roaming around Fort Worth, you can still see plenty of livestock and cowboys at the rodeo. One of my favorite things about this city is that they do a great job of keeping the history and traditions of Fort Worth alive.

So head on down to the Fort Worth Stockyards Rodeo and witness first hand the fun and excitement!
