A Cowboy's Life: Visit to the country

Visit to the country

8:43:00 AM

Every October we take a trip to a small town in Texas for a little getaway. We have been doing this for the last 11 years and is one of my favorite family traditions. Having three days in the country with no internet and only turning on the tv to check the scores of college football games.

We typically pick a town we have never been to, but since we had the most amazing time last year in Muenster, we decided to go back. We spent our days fishing, cooking and tracking animals. And by tracking animals, I mean Carson trying to determine the source of each poop we saw in the woods and fields.

The highlight of the trip happened on Saturday afternoon. A horse and two donkeys came up to the cabin and of course they became fast friends with Carson. He spent about 2 hours talking, petting and taking him for a walk around the property. I loved seeing the joy and excitement on his face while interacting with the horse. I wish we could have stayed longer than the weekend!
