A Cowboy's Life: Living with a Purpose

Living with a Purpose

8:49:00 PM

At the start of every year my husband and I sit down and reflect on the past year. We go through our notebook and look back at our monthly, yearly and 5 year plans to see what we accomplished, where we fell short or how our plans have changed. We discuss about how far we’ve come and make plans for the New Year.

I find it very rewarding to see the goals/dreams you wrote down on paper come to fruition. Checking it off the list is a great feeling. As we wrote down what we want to see happen with our family in 2016, we kept coming back to the same idea - We need to be more purposeful in our lives.

So this year we wrote out our goals for the year, but with a meaningful purpose. No random thoughts – they had to have a reason and a plan of execution. I think this will become very beneficial for my family when we sit down and have family time once a week/month to go over what needs to be done and see if we are on track.

But even with the goals and dreams we have as a family, I also don’t want to miss out on the now. I can’t forget to live in the moment we are in. To do that I need both my professional and personal to be done with a purpose.

I am excited to see what 2016 has in store for us. What about you? Do you have a word or goals for 2016?

  3. Whatever works is what you should do and you sound like you know what you need to do and do it! I am more of a seat of the pants kind of person-I seem to get more accomplished that way. My take--whatever works for you--go for it!

  6. My resolution is to not buy any toys or books for my kids. We have too many toys and can get any book we want from the library.
