A Cowboy's Life: Must-Do Winter Activities in Fort Worth

Must-Do Winter Activities in Fort Worth

9:33:00 AM

I’ve come to realize that I am not a big fan of winter. I like it when there is a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground or when I am on the ski slopes. But I have no use for the cold and windy weather! Texas winters are weird, unpredictable and just not as beautiful as those states covered in snow. But even if we don’t have 6 inches of snow on the ground we can still enjoy the winter months! Here is a list of my favorite winter activities to partake in around Fort Worth.
  • Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo – This thing is legendary! Spend the day enjoying rides at the midway, great food, exhibitions, livestock shows & auction, shopping and of course watching the cowboys compete in a rodeo.
  • Casa Manana – This theatre has such wonderful kid’s performances. We are looking forward to seeing School House Rock.
  • Ice Skating at Panther Island – This outdoor skating rink is open daily through January 18.
  • Snuggle up at the Drive-In Theater – Grab a blanket and enjoy watching a flick on the big screen at Coyote Drive In with great views overlooking downtown Fort Worth.
What activities do you like to do during the cold winter months?

  1. Hey Chastity,

These activities in Ft. Worth sound like much fun! I found your post on SHINE, and stopped by for a visit.

I lived in Waco for several years while attending college at Baylor. Made it to Ft. Worth a few times. It's a great place!

Hope you have a blessed day~

  2. I really enjoy bundling up and going for a walk. Although, it's been pretty mild so far this winter.

  3. I have never been to the Fort Worth area. Sounds like a super fun place in the winter!

  4. It was like faith for me to come across your blog post! I'm from the Dallas area (moved to TX about a year ago). Me and my family are always looking for places to explore and hangout at. We haven't gone to the Stock Yards yet, but we've heard many great things. Texas winters are weird! Especially since I'm a Florida girl, but I must admit that I've gotten used to it. Definitely will be visiting the Drive-In Movie Theatre! I've always wanted to go to one (it's on my bucket list) and I had no clue that there were any around the are. Thanks for writing this post, you have a new subscriber! :)

  5. Sounds like so much fun. I trained in Dallas as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Ft Worth has a soft spot in my heart

  6. We never get snow! Just a lot of rain this winter - uurgghh! We like snuggling up inside having a movie day! Kaz

  7. These sound like some lovely activities. We usually get a fair amount of snow. Last year a colleague gave us two kicksleds, so we want to do some kicksledding. Plus our city built an ice castle this year! We plan on exploring it in a few weeks time.

Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop).

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.
