A Cowboy's Life: Mission Trip Packing List

Mission Trip Packing List

5:00:00 AM

In a few short weeks my niece and a group from church will be heading to Uganda for a week long mission trip. They will be on a remote island, camping in tents and living how the locals do. Their time there will focus on providing school supplies to children, Vacation Bible School and simply sharing the love of God to those they meet. It is going to be a wonderful opportunity!

Like most trips, each person is allowed to bring 2 bags. One is for themselves and the other is for all the supplies they will be donating while abroad. Since they only have one bag, they must only pack the necessities. Here is the care package of must have supplies I gave to my niece so that she has the essentials for her trip.

Packing List:
  • Epic Wipes - These towel-sized wet wipes are perfect for those who do not have access to a shower. One wipe can clean your entire body - You only need one to get the job done!
  • Hand Sanitizer - So many germs.
  • Bug Spray - Mosquitos are everywhere.
  • Snacks - A few pre-packaged snacks for when you are on the go. There is no local convenience store to pick up something when hungry. They must eat what is served or they don’t eat. So it’s nice to have something just in case.
  • Pen & pad - For jotting down your experiences as you go.
  • Neosporin - For all those cuts and scrapes along the way.
So if you or someone you know is spending their summer on a mission trip, camping or in the military I highly recommend you getting them Epic Wipes. This is a game changers for those who do not have access to a shower.

The Epic Wipes are essentially the shower that fits in your pocket. This safe and sustainable product is tough enough to clean any soldier and gentle enough to use on your little ones after spending a day at the park. Head over to Kickstarter to purchase your Epic Wipes so you can make sure you have a shower anywhere you go!

Have you been on a mission trip? What would you add to this list?

*I was given this product for a review. All opinions are 100% my own.

  1. I went on a mission trip to Mexico when i was a teen and it forever changed my life. The two things they need in Mexico (not sure about Uganda) are clean water, so I would probably send a few of those water bottles with filters in them. They also desperately need love of God which your niece is going over there to give. May God bless her journey!

  2. I don't know if one bag could hold all the bug spray I'd need! I'm the person in the group getting eaten alive while everyone else is fine :-(

  3. What an amazing trip. I've never left North America, but if I did, I'd want to do something meaningful. It's smart to think of what to pack. The bugs! Oh, the bug! They're awful seemingly everywhere.
