My son’s favorite toy is his tool chest. He carries it around with him everywhere he goes in hopes that something is broken and has an excuse to pull out his hammer and nails. Luckily for him all the men in our family are more than willing to build with him.

He is all about the nerf guns lately, so my dad and Carson decided to build a target for shooting. This boy of ours was in construction heaven. Since he was using the big power drill, we promised him a big scoop of DREYER’S Ice Cream if he followed instructions and was safe with the tool.

Here is what you need for the target:
1 2x4 board
2 plastic bottles
  1. First you need to cut the wood into 3 -12” strips and 1-16” strip.
  2. Then screw together the 12” strips so that it is U shaped.
  3. Drill the U shaped onto the the 16” board.
  4. At the top, drill 2 small holes.
  5. Thread the twine through the holes and tie onto the plastic water bottles.
  6. All that is left to do is set it up and try it out!
Of course Carson did a fantastic job building the target! He immediately reminded me how safe he was and that he was ready for his ice cream cone. We all sat outside by the pool admiring the guys handy work and enjoyed snacking on a scoop of ice cream.
My favorite is the DREYER’S Butterfinger Peanut Butter, but dad really enjoyed the DREYER’S BabyRuth Ice Cream. Nestlé Butterfinger® Peanut Butter Cups and Baby Ruth® are jammed packed in each scoop. DREYER’S is made with fresh milk & cream and no added flavors - no wonder it’s so good!
It was so sweet seeing my son bonding with Papaw over power tools. But of course celebrating togetherness by sharing ice cream is always a great idea as well. So what are you waiting for? Head to your local Walmart to pick up a carton or two in the freezer section - you can also visit the demos going on in stores to try out a sample.

Who would you celebrate togetherness with this summer?
