Monday was my sons first day of Pre-K. The excitement had been building for weeks as we gathered up school supplies, purchased new clothes and picked out just the right backpack. I had been going over with him how our mornings would go and he instantly wanted to know what I would make him for breakfast the first day of school. Hey, the kid has his priorities straight!
I feel that breakfast is so important and I want him to start the each day with a smile. His absolute favorite breakfast food is pancakes, so of course I had to make that for him. So while at Target getting last minute supplies, I picked up ingredients to make chocolate banana pancakes. You can use this Cartwheel offer of Nesquik Powder & Ready-to-Drink Bottles to get 15% off 18.7 oz powder and 10 packs of bottles. Offer expires Aug. 27, 2016.
1 cup pancake mix
1/3 cup water
2 bananas
2 tbsp NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® Powder

  1. In a blender add the pancake mix, water, NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® Powder and 1 banana.
  2. Blend on high until well mixed.
  3. Heat up pancake griddle to 350 degrees.
  4. Pour about 1/4 cup batter on pan. Cook until bubbles begin to form and edges brown.
  5. Gently flip and brown the other side.
  6. Repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Stack 3-4 pancakes and place slices of banana on top.
  8. Pour on syrup and enjoy.
Instead of making plain pancakes, I added a banana and NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® Powder to help start my sons day with a hearty breakfast. Not only does the powder have 7 essential vitamins and minerals, but no artificial colors or flavors. It provides the nutrition my kiddo needs with the chocolatey taste that he loves.
The pancakes were devoured and got him ready for the big day. With all the activities, friends he will make and new routine, I wanted to make sure he had a great breakfast to fuel his little brain and belly so he wouldn’t be hungry during school.
What do you make your kids for breakfast during the school year?
